Well, the 2024 winter season is upon us. 

Again we're looking upwards in number this season. While we've had some retirements (temporary retirements anyway :) ) we still have great numbers in seniors. So much so we've introduced a 5th team under the banner of GHA Clovers (assisted by GHA & Easts Clovers). I hope that everyone enjoys tomorrow's season start. 

Juniors are starting with 2 come-and-try sessions to lead up to the school holidays. But again, all reports are interest is high. If you have any juniors (including ones from last year) head on down tomorrow and join in on the skills sessions.  

Unfortunately, with those retirements mentioned above a large number of our experienced umpire stocks have been depleted. This has given a great opportunity for some new blood in the umpire ranks and we thank those who have put their hands up. All players & spectators are reminded that GHA has a zero-tolerance policy for umpire descent. This will be especially policed by the committee and umpires as we look to fast-track some training for new umpires.

We are also happy to announce the formation of a junior umpire program called "GHAs Young Whistelblowers" where we are running monthly rules and umpire training for players in the 12 - 17-year-old age groups that are interested. We started with a successful session on Thursday and would welcome any newcomers to the 2nd session. 

Juniors commence at 10:30 am to 12:30 pm this week followed by our seniors kicking off with our Women's Div this week at 1 pm with Livefit/SouthWest Turf vs GRE Devils, followed by Exies Galahs Women vs Easts Flavourtech Women from 2:30 pm. They will be followed up at 4 pm by Bulldogs HC vs Galahs HC in the first of the men's div with Easts Men's taking on Devils HC Men's in our first evening game at 5:30 pm.
